2012/2013.

My fave pics and personal styles of 2012 - a mix of All Saints, vintage pieces from the 70s and classy pieces
2012 was a real rollercoaster: The first half of the year I had to overcome a difficult situation within my family and this really caused a personal crisis for me. But - and that's the good thing about crisis - I really learnt who I am and what I love. So, the second half of 2012 was filled with joy and happiness. First, I went on my dream vacation. Me and hubby went to California, visiting all the places I ever wanted to go since my childhood: Sunset Strip with Roxy, Rainbow and The Whisk a Go Go, just following the steps of my musical idols, Guns N'Roses and The Doors. And of cause we went to San Francisco and Monterey, diving into the hippy spirit of the late 60s. Here, I realized that I'm a true hippy at heart.

After learning (again) who I am, I started my new blog in September, right after my vacation. I really love to chat with my blogging buddies I do know for such a long time now (and from my former blog). This blog reminds me every day who I am, what I love and how much joy there is in every day.

2013 will be exciting for me, too! I'm going to finish my PhD in literature (that will cause long days sitting on the computer and writing the whole day long!) and I'm not sure what will be waiting for me at the end of that task. In my private life, I will be going on enjoying every single moment and all the small things around me. And - for sure - travelling is on the agenda, too ;)
On the fashionable site, I will go on investing in quality pieces that I will own for a long time. The pieces that I will be investing in have to be classy (no matter if they are hippy-esque or classy in its original meaning) and well made. No fake leathers, polyesters or acrylic stuff for me!
And: I will be growing out my hair even longer as it is now, I like myself as a 60s style blonde! There will be more hair care and beauty posts here in the near future.

Pics on top are my 3 fave pictures of 2012: me in San Francisco, wearing my fave All Saints pieces and my tooled L.A. hippy bag (classsssy!), me in my Mexican leather jacket bought in L.A. (classy, too!) and me on Christmas Day in my Rag&Bone gear (classy classics ;) ). Wishing you all a wonderful 2013 full of joy, happiness and self-fulfillment!

Happy New year Viv. It sounds like 2013 will be a great year for you :) I'm sorry you had such a tough time at the beginning of the year, I'm glad to hear everything has been sorted out.

I enjoy blogging and all the friends I've made through it and I'm really glad you decided to start yours up again. There aren't many people (at least that I've come across) who have similar interests so I'm always happy when I find someone who likes (and writes about) things I enjoy.

All the best,

Em

I understand you point about crisis, as my grandpa and mom said when you overcome difficulties you become a better or a worse version of yourself. I think that you have become a happier and better version of yourself.

P.S. I really, really like the new blog format and the fact that is all about you, your life and your style.

Hi my dear!! I loved reading this post and I am so pleased you've managed to overcome your crisis this year and develop not only style wise but within yourself too. You have lovely qualities and I too only strive to pick the best in style-haha, acrylic is a definite no-no in my wardrobe too! I love your photos and I will seek out Rag & Bone, thanks for the recommendation! Wishing you a happy new year and thanks for being such a loyal follower and blogger friend xxx

I found you through Vintage Vixen but follow Hippie Lace too - small world! I love your style and photos! How exciting that you're finishing your Doctorate in Lit! I have my M.A. In Lit but stopped there, alas. Happy New year to you and yours, and I'm looking forward to seeing you more in the New Year! Kelly/Grunge Queen
